On Tuesday, a Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos state, decided that Liam Aloba, the two-year-old son of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage as Mohbad, would be subject to DNA testing.
Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, had submitted an application, and Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga was giving his ruling on it.
Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, Mohbad’s widow, was named as the suit’s respondent. Augustine Adegbemi, the attorney for Joseph Aloba, made the motion when it was time for the hearing, and Kabir Akingbolu, the attorney for Omowumi, did not object.
After that, Magistrate Sonuga gave the order to perform two DNA tests.One will take place in Nigeria, while the other will take place outside. Both parties or their representatives will be present when the samples are taken, and both tests will be conducted in hospitals that have been accredited and recognized.
November 11 has been set as the new date for the lawsuit.
