Military sources in N’Djamena confirmed on Monday that President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno ordered a comprehensive military lockdown along the Nigerian border. This directive was issued after intelligence reports indicated that terrorist actors originating from Northern Nigeria were allegedly preparing to cross into Chadian territory.
According to reporting by Zagazola Makama, Chadian troops and armored vehicles have been strategically deployed to critical routes connecting the two nations, and all relevant military units are currently operating at a state of full readiness. President Déby reportedly issued a strict warning, declaring that “no armed group or foreign force will be allowed to enter Chadian soil under any disguise.
