In response to a military threat from the United States, China has called on the international community to protect Nigeria’s sovereignty.
The Chinese government reaffirmed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and praised it for steering the nation along a growth path specific to its unique circumstances.

Mao Ning, the spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, made this claim at a press conference on Tuesday in Beijing, according to a report taken from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, People’s Republic of China website. “As Nigeria’s strategic partner, China opposes any attempt by foreign powers to use religion or human rights as a pretext to meddle in another country’s internal affairs or impose sanctions and military threats,” she stated.
Due to alleged Christian persecution in Nigeria, the United States recently threatened to take military action against the country.
Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has threatened to send military troops to Nigeria if the country’s claimed Christian genocide is not halted.
