In Gode, Ethiopia, Aliko Dangote, the president and chief executive of the Dangote Group, presided over the launching of a $2.5 billion fertilizer facility.
The project, a collaboration between the Dangote Group and Ethiopian Investment Holdings, is anticipated to grow into one of the biggest fertilizer complexes in the world, according to a statement released by the Dangote Group on Sunday. It has an annual production capacity of three million metric tonnes of urea.
It is anticipated to use Ethiopia’s plentiful natural gas resources from the Hilal and Calub reservoirs to increase agricultural output, generate employment, and improve food security around the Horn of Africa. It is situated in the country’s southeast.Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed reportedly stressed that the fertiliser project represents shared responsibility, cooperation, and peace when speaking at the occasion, characterising it as more than just industrial advancement.
