In what seems to be a turning point in the state’s ongoing political turmoil, suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara met with suspended Speaker of the House of Assembly Martins Amaewhule and other irate members.
The meeting in Abuja ended well, according to several sources on Thursday night. Fubara was spotted clutching Amaewhule’s hands while they laughed and joked.
The first attempt at direct reconciliation between the governor and the lawmakers took place during the private meeting.
“The suspended governor is determined to make peace,” The Cable was informed by a source with knowledge of the situation. The actual engagement has begun with him.
