The Lagos State Government has advised motorists and commuters to prepare for a major traffic diversion on Lagos Island this Saturday, November 8, 2025, to accommodate the 10th Edition of the Lagos Women Run.

The 10-kilometre, all-female road race is scheduled to commence at 6:00 a.m., starting from Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and concluding at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Affected Routes and Alternative Corridors

According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, several key routes will experience partial closure to ensure the safety of the over 8,000 registered participants.

The affected corridors include: TBS and Outer Marina, Bonny Camp Bridge and State House, Ahmadu Bello Way and Akin Adesola Street, Falomo Bridge, Awolowo Road, and Onikan Roundabout

The government has urged motorists to be patient and utilize alternative routes provided during the race period.

Traffic advises

Ozumba Mbadiwe to Third Mainland Bridge: Motorists should divert through Bonny Camp to the Onikan Underpass, then connect Marina Exit to Force Road, linking Outer Marina before merging onto the Third Mainland Bridge.

Apongbon to Ikoyi: Drivers are advised to use Odunlami Street to link Igbosere Road, proceeding through Moloney Street to access Ikoyi Road.

A combined team of traffic management and law enforcement officials, including LASTMA, Police, and FRSC, will be stationed along the routes to guide movement and ensure the closures are managed effectively and lifted gradually as the race progresses.
